Building Healthy Habits, and Breaking Bad Ones

June 10 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Build Good Habits/Break Bad Ones

On May 27th, from 9:15am to 12:15pm, Tacit Knowledge will be working with the Strathcona County Library (MMIT Team), as staff participate in a training course on Building Healthy Habits, and Breaking Bad Ones.

Habits provide us with the ability to streamline the effort we put into the task of living.  They minimize conscious thought and often become wonderfully efficient, automatic responses that form the foundation for many aspects of our daily functioning. But sometimes, our habits become problematic patterns – they lead us away from a healthy balance or keep us stuck in a repetitive rut.  They can limit our desire or ability to stretch our wings, to try new things and to grow.  They can undermine our confidence and cause us to doubt ourselves.  In this Training Session, participants will come to understand what creates a positive habit; how to more easily change the habits that are holding us back; and how to construct new habits that will support whatever healthy goals we imagine for our lives.

This is a closed Training facilitated by Kim Silverthorn BA, RPC, MPCC, CT.   Kim has over 34 years of experience as a therapist, and often works with families/agencies who are trying to effectively address the stress that exists in their lives.
