Getting Started in Private Practice
June 24 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Getting Started in Private Practice can seem like a daunting endeavour! But it doesn’t have to be – there are some really simple ways that you can know if the time is right for you to take this step! And there are foundational steps that can be used, as you move in the direction of starting your own therapy practice, to ensure that your efforts are successful!
If you have ever wondered what it would take to become your own boss – to start your own Private Therapy Practice – this Training is for you! Join us for “Getting Started In Private Practice” and learn all about:
– How to know when you might be ready to begin PP;
– Preparing the “behind-the-scenes” structure that will help get your PP set up;
– Launching/Opening the doors to your PP;
– Ethical networking and marketing considerations (how to find clients to fill your PP);
– Staying in healthy balance, on a personal level;
– Things they don’t tell you, in the PP world;
– Links to Peer/Networking Groups and Training Resources that will help even more.
This Training session is happening on June 23rd and June 24th (10am to 11:30pm PST, both days) – it is a closed session and is being provided to participants who are attending the annual Summer Career Planning Fair through Rhodes Wellness College (Vancouver School of Healing Arts).
The sessions will be facilitated by Kim Silverthorn BA, RPC, MPCC, CT of Tacit Knowledge. Kim has over 30 years of experience as a therapist, and has been running her own, very successful private practice for the past 10 years. She initially started out as a solo practitioner, and has since expanded into to a group practice that includes 6 other Associates. Kim continues to work fulltime in her practice (seeing about 15 clients a week, providing PD Training session, writing the weekly “Dear Tacit” mental wellness article for news sites across Canada, and managing her team), and is fully booked with client sessions 3 months in advance.
