Mental Wellness Book Club (The Happiness Project)
November 10, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$10.50
Tacit Knowledge is excited to present another of our specialized Mental Wellness Book Club Programs (The Happiness Project). Book Therapy (also known as Bibliotherapy) is a type of counselling that focuses on leveraging the power of stories to heal. Individuals come together to read and discuss the highlights from a book chosen specifically to help them make concrete changes in their lives that are designed to move them towards an increased sense of happiness and peace.
Join us once a month – on the second Sunday – at 7:00pm (MST) – from January 14th to December 8th (2024), inclusive (Jan 14, Feb 11, Mar 10, Apr 14, May 12, June 9, July 14, Aug 11, Sept 8, Oct 13, Nov 10 and Dec 8th). This 12-week Program is offered via Zoom and is a terrific opportunity for participants to come together and find creative ideas and simple strategies that promote a healthy well-being.
this time, we will be reading The Happiness Project – by Gretchen Rubin – for our Mental Wellness Book Club Program. According to Amazon, “Rubin chronicles her adventures during the twelve months she spent test-driving the wisdom of the ages, current scientific research, and lessons from popular culture about how to be happier. Among other things, she found that novelty and challenge are powerful sources of happiness; that money can help buy happiness, when spent wisely; that outer order contributes to inner calm; and that the very smallest of changes can make the biggest difference.”
This book is already broken into 12 parts – one segment will be addressed in each of the 12 monthly sessions of the Program. Participants are encouraged to pre-read the appropriate segment on their own, before each meeting. (But don’t worry if you fall behind in your reading – we will be enjoying selected excerpts from the book together, in each meeting, and our discussions will focus on these parts especially.) The book has been designed as an annual project for anyone who wants to move towards a simpler and happier life by making real and permanent changes in the bigger aspects that impact our overall well-being.
Everyone is welcome to join us for this Program – you DO NOT have to be a resident of Beaumont to attend. You can participate for all of or just some of the sessions, as you are able.
There is a small registration fee for this 12 week Mental Wellness Book Club Program – $10/evening – $120.00 plus GST (total cost is $126.00). Participants can etransfer this payment to Tacit, and then their spot will be reserved. Spaces are limited – there are only 15 seats available in this Bibliotherapy Group Program.
