Supporting Your Child’s Mental Wellness – Parent Series
April 18, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Join us via Zoom, Tuesday afternoons, from 1pm to 2:30pm, on April 18th, April 25th, May 2nd and May 9th for this FREE, online 4 part workshop series for parents/guardians who are supporting children and/or youth who have mental health challenges (anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, low esteem, etc).
April 18th – Session 1 – Foundations for Healthy Balance. Learn about the essential building blocks that we all need to be able to manage stress/school/work/relationships effectively.
April 25th – Session 2 – Understanding How the Human Brain Works. Learn how to decrease stress hormones and increase happy hormones and how to respond when your child is out of balance or triggered.
May 2nd – Session 3 – Managing Difficult Emotions. Learn how to help kids process and release their feelings in a healthy way and learn what not to do or what makes things worse.
May 9th – Session 4 – What Can A Parent Do? Kids learn by watching. So parents need to know how to balance their own social, emotional, mental and physical needs each day. Self care goes beyond bubble baths – learn what else needs to be role modelled.
This FREE Workshop Series is available to everyone – you do NOT need to be a resident of Leduc to participate. You are welcome to attend all or just some of the sessions, as you are able (although different themes will be discussed each afternoon, you do NOT have to attend every session to get something helpful out of the experience).
This Workshop Series is being facilitated by Kim Silverthorn BA, RPC, MPCC, CT of Tacit Knowledge. Kim has over 30 years of experience as a therapist, and often works with families/agencies who are trying to effectively address the mental health challenges that exist in their lives.
