Reporting Disclosures of Abuse (and Supporting the Families Involved)
This session has been designed for anyone who works with the public, who might find themselves dealing with current or historical disclosures of child abuse or neglect. Participants will learn how to appropriately respond to these disclosures – to understand what questions should or should not be asked; to identify the necessary information required about the victim and those involved; and to know how to most effectively manage the reporting of the concerns to the appropriate authorities. Participants will also learn how they can maintain a supportive and unified role with the family during this very difficult process.
