Managing Anger Effectively

February 16 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Managing Anger Effectively

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion – but when it is not properly supported, it can start to get the better of us.  Anger released outward can become violent and aggressive – relationships with others begin to suffer.  Anger stuffed inward becomes depression – and our own confidence and ability to function in every day life will suffer.  It can sometimes be tricky to know how to recognize anger in it’s early stages.  We don’t always understand why it develops or what it’s real purpose might be.  And until we do better understand these things, we will always struggle with managing anger effectively – knowing how to redirect this strong emotion to more appropriate outlets so we (or someone we care about) can move towards healing.

On February 16th, Kim Silverthorn BA, RPC, MPCC, CT is facilitating this PD session with the staff at the Alberta Immigrant Women and Children Centre, in Edmonton. This is a closed Training.  Kim has over 30 years of experience as a therapist, and often works with agencies who are trying to effectively support families/children who are struggling with the challenges and stress that exists in their lives.
