Forgiveness – And Letting Go

Forgiveness is a misunderstood process.  It is NOT the act of saying that something bad is okay.  It does NOT mean we will forget the damage that resulted or that we will allow a person who has hurt us to come back into our lives.  Forgiveness is the act of fully processing the emotions (hurt and pain) that sometimes result when a relationship (with a significant other, with a work environment, with a friend or family member) ends badly.  And it is a necessary part of our ability to “move on” in a healthy way.  Without forgiveness, we can end up carrying the emotional wounds with us, for the rest of our life.  Ignoring or denying the feelings actually changes who we are – we get stuck – our ability to emotionally grow is limited.  We can find ourselves avoiding new relationships or repeating the same unhealthy patterns in the relationships that come next.  This Training helps participants learn how to move towards forgiveness when they are emotionally stuck in the hurt/anger from a relationship that is now over.  And it provides participants with specific activities that can be taken to get to a healthy, happier place, free of those old wounds.
